BALTIMORE CORNER, Md. (AP) - The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado struck Maryland’s Caroline County as severe thunderstorms storms ripped through the southern United States earlier this week.
The Baltimore Sun reports that the tornado touched down north of Baltimore Corner around 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The weather service said Tuesday that the tornado churned eastward for almost five miles before dissipating south of Henderson.
The weather service reported no injuries from the tornado. But it snapped or uprooted trees.
Monday’s storms had left about 10,000 people without power in the Baltimore region.
