Sean Taylor would have turned 37 on Wednesday. The former Redskins great, of course, was murdered in 2007 when four men invaded the safety’s home during an armed robbery.
But even with the tragedy, those in the NFL community — from fans to former players — chose to fondly remember Taylor on his birthday.
Here’s a collection of what was said around the web:
Sean Taylor is the reason why I interact with fans the way I do. He showed me that time matters more than your signature, just by spending a couple of minutes with me. https://t.co/v1GyyuZZ41

Happy birthday to #SeanTaylor, who would have turned 37 today & might still be playing. This is Sean in the final game of his rookie season outdoing the great Randy Moss on a 50/50 ball. Speed, athleticism, anticipation & play-making. #RIP21 #Redskins pic.twitter.com/tb4pdAUrXJ
