Dr. Anthony Fauci, the physician at the heart of its response to the coronavirus emergency, has joined the baseball immortals.

“Bobbleheads are the ultimate honor, and we think Dr. Fauci deserves it given what he has done and continues to do for our country and the world in the battle against COVID-19,” said Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum.

The bobbleheads, which went on sale Wednesday evening, will cost $25 plus an $8 shipping and handling fee, according to the Hall of Fame, which is headquartered in Milwaukee.

The Hall and Museum will donate $5 from every Dr. Fauci bobblehead sold to the American Hospital Association in support of its 100 Million Mask Challenge, Mr. Sklar said. They are available on the Hall of Fame’s website.

Mr. Sklar said they had fielded multiple requests for a Dr. Fauci bobblehead, calling him “America’s voice of reason.”

Dr. Fauci, 79, has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984.

As one of the faces of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, Dr. Fauci’s bespectacled face has become a familiar feature to many Americans through daily press conferences in which he participates.

On Tuesday, Dr. Fauci predicted that the U.S. could face between 100,000 and 200,000 deaths from the coronavirus, which has swept across the world since first infecting humans in Wuhan, China, last year.
