ALBANY, Ga. (AP) - Police in southwest Georgia say thieves stole a cargo trailer belonging to a Baptist church and pawned the equipment they found inside.

WALB-TV reports the pastor of Albany Baptist Church reported the missing trailer to Dougherty County police. The stolen 2019 Continental dual-axle trailer measured 17-feet (5.18-meters) long.

Police detective David Flick says the trailer was filled with equipment that the thieves pawned. He said a pawnshop also reported a man trying to sell a trailer that matched the description of the one stolen from the church.

Albany Baptist Church recently broke ground on a new church building that is under construction.
