It’s fair to say no player in the WNBA’s Eastern Conference can hold a candle to Elena Delle Donne this season.

The Washington Mystics star won Eastern Conference Player of the Month for the third straight month, remaining the only player to win the monthly honor all year.

The first-place Mystics went 9-2 in August as Delle Donne, a front-runner for league MVP, averaged 20.5 points and 8.2 rebounds per game in those contests. She recorded three double-doubles and shot a staggering 98.3% from the free throw line.

Delle Donne won the same award in June and July, so with August she swept the category. Both Delle Donne and the Mystics will hope to win their first WNBA title as they begin the postseason later this month.

Delle Donne wasn’t the only Mystic to be honored Wednesday. Coach Mike Thibault was named WNBA Coach of the Month for August.
