SEATTLE (AP) - Authorities say 11 people were arrested for trespassing after they refused to leave several JPMorgan Chase locations in Seattle during climate demonstrations.
KOMO reports police were called to multiple downtown bank locations Monday where climate protesters were reportedly occupying the lobbies.
The protesters were with a group called 350 Seattle. The group said they were going to “evict” the four branches of JPMorgan Chase for “crimes against the climate.”
Police say that once they arrived at the scenes, many of the protesters left. The eleven protesters who didn’t depart were then taken into custody after they refused to leave the banks. They were later booked into King County Jail for trespassing.
