TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Officials say a Florida deputy has been suspended without pay following allegations that he received oral sex from a woman at a homeless camp while on duty.
The Tampa Bay Times reports that Hillsborough County Deputy Anthony Marrero was placed on unpaid leave Aug. 29. His attorney says Marrero categorically denies any sexual battery allegations.
An affidavit says Marrero and his partner responded Aug. 23 to a non-violent domestic dispute. Marrero drove a woman to a Tampa wooded area where she had been living. The woman says she removed her pants, and Marrero exposed himself, prompting her to perform oral sex.
The woman told investigators Marrero didn’t force her to perform sex, but she felt compelled to do so because he was in uniform.
Marrero told investigators the oral sex never happened.
No criminal charges have been reported.
