Pop icon Jennifer Lopez will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl LIV next February in Miami, joined by Latin star Shakira and other performers to be announced later, the NFL announced.

The news broke just minutes after Lopez posted this tweet, which refers to the date the Super Bowl will be played in Miami:

Lopez, 50, has had a litany of hit singles that include “If You Had My Love,” “Jenny from the Block” and “On the Floor.” Shakira, best known for “Hips Don’t Lie” and “Whenever, Wherever,” has won 13 Latin Grammy Awards.

It was first reported earlier this month that Lopez was in talks to take on the halftime show, which regularly draws about 100 million TV viewers each year.

In a later tweet, Ms. Lopez confirmed the report, and boasted that she and the Colombian singer are “going to set the world on” fire.

The NFL reportedly made the decision in conjunction with Roc Nation, Jay-Z’s entertainment company which recently partnered with the league amid some criticism.

Agreeing to do the show also has taken on a political tone in recent years, as some music fans would rather have their favorite artists boycott the NFL over issues of players experiencing head trauma or Colin Kaepernick’s alleged blackballing from the league.

Maroon 5 headlined the show last year.
