ASHBURN — Case Keenum returned to practice Thursday, a day after sitting out with a foot injury. Redskins coach Jay Gruden will provide an update later in the afternoon whether the 31-year-old was either a limited or a full participant, but the news is an encouraging sign the quarterback will be able to play in Sunday’s game against the New York Giants.
Keenum hurt his foot in Monday’s loss to the Chicago Bears and was in a walking boot Wednesday. The Redskins held Keenum out of practice as a precautionary.
In the session open to reporters, Keenum threw the ball in individual drills and did not have a noticeable limp when walking.
Backups Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy also participated Thursday, making it the first time since Aug.13 all three quarterbacks practiced. McCoy had missed the last month-and-a-half with a leg injury.
Earlier this week, Gruden backed Keenum as the starter moving forward, despite the veteran committing five turnovers against the Bears.
