JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Four Mississippi police officers involved in civilian deaths were ordered to be reinstated to their regular position months ago, but the police department hasn’t complied with the order.

The Clarion-Ledger reports that a court petition is demanding the Jackson Police Department reinstate officers Lincoln Lampley, Desmond Barney, Anthony Fox and Rakasha Adams.

The Jackson Civil Service Commission ruled in July that the officers could return to duty. The petition says the city’s 30-day window to appeal the commission’s decision has passed.

The petition requests that a judge order the city to reinstate the officers and award appropriate attorney fees.

Barney, Fox and Lampley were involved in the death of George Robinson , who died from blunt force trauma while being arrested. Adams was involved in the fatal shooting of Crystalline Barnes .
