HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Officials say a West Virginia man has been caught with a loaded gun at an airport checkpoint.
The Transportation Security Administration on Monday says the man was stopped with a 9 mm handgun in his carry-on bag at the Huntington Tri-State Airport Sunday.
The TSA didn’t release the man’s name but said he was cited by police on a weapons violation. The gun had a bullet in the chamber and there were another 13 bullets in his bag.
It was found when the man’s bag went through the X-ray machine.
The agency says it’s the eighth time someone has been caught with a gun at the airport’s checkpoint.
A TSA news release says guns are allowed in checked bags if they’re properly packaged and declared.
