The Washington Redskins won’t have to worry about Saquon Barkley when they face the New York Giants next week.

Barkley will miss the next 4-8 weeks with a high ankle sprain, ESPN reported following his MRI. The running back was hurt in Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was spotted in a walking boot with crutches on the sideline.

The loss hurts the Giants as Barkley has become the focal point of their offense since being drafted second overall in 2018. The Penn State product is the reigning offensive rookie of the year and has proven to be a threat in both the run and pass game.

Despite Barkley’s injury, the Giants rallied from an 18-point deficit in Tampa behind rookie quarterback Daniel Jones.
