TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Motorists are seeing higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey in the wake of last weekend’s attack on key Saudi Arabian oil facilities.
AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gas in the state on Friday was $2.59, which is up 4 cents from last week. Drivers were paying $2.86 a gallon a year ago at this time.
The national average gas price Friday was $2.66, up 9 cents from last week. But that’s still lower than the national average from a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.85.
Analysts say the situation in Saudi Arabia remains fluid, so it’s unclear how long the price spikes will last.
