MIAMI, Ariz. (AP) - Firefighters from multiple agencies on Thursday battled to contain a fire involving five buildings in downtown Miami, a small town about 70 miles (112 kilometers) east of Phoenix.

Miami Police Chief Keith Thompson said cause of the fire near Live Oak Street and Miami Avenue was under investigation.

News video showed fire trucks shooting water onto the roofs and sides of several buildings, one of which appeared to be gutted.

Thompson said one firefighter suffered a minor injury.

The Arizona Department of Transportation said it had no report of the fire causing delays of traffic on U.S. 60, an east-west highway that bisects Miami.
