CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire authorities say a man found dead in a pile of refuse at a trash transfer station had entered a dumpster, likely for shelter, and was still inside it when it was mechanically loaded into a garbage truck.

A medical examiner has determined that the death of 36-year-old William Bradley in May was accidental. He died of “probable traumatic asphyxia.”

Bradley was found dead at the Waste Management Transfer Station in Auburn, in a pile of refuse delivered to the station.

Authorities said Bradley was intoxicated at the time of his death, a circumstance that likely factored into the accident.
