LANDOVER — Redskins cornerback Quinton Dunbar will miss Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys with a knee injury.

Washington’s secondary will be shorthanded without Dunbar and cornerback Fabian Moreau (ankle). The Redskins signed cornerback Aaron Colvin on Friday, days after the Houston Texans released the 27-year-old for allowing two touchdowns against the New Orleans Saints.

Before Colvin’s signing, coach Jay Gruden said veteran Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie would start against Dallas, if Dunbar could not go.

Dunbar was previously listed as questionable. Gruden said Dunbar’s knee swelled up on Wednesday and went for further examination, which revealed a “few issues.”

Moreau, meanwhile, will miss his second straight game despite practicing earlier this week. The UCLA product is recovering from a sprained ankle and was listed as doubtful on Friday. Rookie Jimmy Moreland will take Moreau’s spot.

Besides Moreau and Dunbar, tight end Jordan Reed (concussion), quarterback Colt McCoy (leg), guard Wes Martin, center Ross Piersbacher and defensive end Jonathan Allen (knee) were listed among Washington’s inactives.
