DENVER (AP) - Police say a drunken man on a motorized scooter struck an officer and then collided with a parked car in downtown Denver.
KMGH-TV reports the man suffered minor injuries in the incident Saturday. The officer wasn’t hurt.
Denver Police spokesman Kurt Barnes said the man would be cited on a charge of driving under the influence.
The officer was directing traffic after a Colorado Rockies game when the scooter struck him.
Barnes says scooter crashes are becoming more common in Denver.
Saturday’s incident occurred six weeks after a man was killed when his motorized scooter collided with a car in Denver. Policy say the scooter veered into oncoming traffic and the driver of the car was not cited.
