Antonio Brown’s agent told ESPN Wednesday that his client will cooperate with any investigations conducted by the NFL, the New England Patriots or the legal system into the allegation he sexually assaulted a woman in 2017 and 2018.
But Drew Rosenhaus declined to say whether the Patriots knew about the accusation and impending lawsuit Saturday when they agreed to sign Brown. The suit was filed Tuesday.
“I’m not going to get into that element,” Rosenhaus said. “I’m not going to get into my discussions with the Patriots or what may or may not have been discussed.”
Meanwhile, Patriots coach Bill Belichick told reporters that Brown was expected to practice with the team Wednesday, but declined to answer other questions about the receiver.
“We’ve looked into the situation. We’re taken it very seriously all the way through the organization,” Belichick said.
Here’s what Belichick said about Antonio Brown. To other questions, he said “I’m done with that” and that he’d give more information when he has it. Would not say if the team knew about the lawsuit before signing Brown. pic.twitter.com/vnSYRmavfe
