Ryan Zimmerman, in perhaps his last game at Nationals Park, hit a three-run homer to center in the last of the fifth Monday night to give the Nationals a 5-1 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 4 of the NLDS.
Zimmerman was drafted out of the University of Virginia in 2005 by the Nationals. He is in the last year of his contract and has been reduced to part-time duty the past few years due to injuries and a platoon system.
He struck out in his first two-bats Monday then went deep against Pedro Baez, who had come on to face Zimmerman with runners on first and third with the score 2-1.
It was the fourth postseason homer for Zimmerman.
