PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - U.S. Sen. Jack Reed is hosting a financial aid workshop for students who need help paying for college.
The Rhode Island Democrat says his annual college financial aid workshop for high school students and their families will be held at 6 p.m. Monday at Cranston West High School.
The free 90-minute workshop is designed to help college-bound students learn from financial aid experts about how to access available resources, manage college costs and fill out financial aid forms.
Reed says there are common errors people make while filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid that can cost students tens of thousands of dollars in financial aid.
He’s encouraging current high school seniors to begin the process as soon as possible, to take full advantage of all available resources.
