LANDOVER — Redskins quarterback Case Keenum will be inactive Sunday against the New England Patriots after previously being listed as questionable with a foot injury.
That means rookie Dwayne Haskins will be the backup behind Colt McCoy, who coach Jay Gruden tabbed as the team’s tarter on Friday.
Keenum first suffered his injury in a Week 3 loss to the Chicago Bears. The 31-year-old was benched in last week’s loss against the Giants, with Gruden citing Keenum’s injury as a factor.
This week, Keenum missed practice Wednesday and was seen in a walking boot. He returned the following two days as a limited participant.
Elsewhere, the Redskins will be getting one of their top weapons back Sunday.
Rookie wide receiver Terry McLaurin is active after missing the Giants game with a hamstring injury. On Friday, Gruden pegged McLaurin’s odds of playing at “50-50,” but the 24-year-old looked good enough in warm-ups to play.
McLaurin told reporters on Thursday that his issue was not being able to fully stop on a dime.
Besides Keenum, tight ends Jordan Reed (concussion) and Vernon Davis (concussion), linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons (hamstring), cornerback Aaron Colvin, center Ross Pierschbacher and right guard Brandon Scherff (ankle) are out for the Redskins.
