Fox News has lost Catherine Herridge.

The cable news giant’s longtime investigative correspondent is heading to CBS just weeks after the departure of chief news anchor Shepard Smith.

A source told the Daily Caller that she allowed her contract at Fox to lapse after receiving an offer that was “too good to pass up.”

Her last day at the network is Friday, she and will start at CBS in November.

“I am grateful to Mr. Murdoch for the opportunity to cover the most impactful stories of the last 23 years, most recently the Special Counsel report and impeachment inquiry,” she said in a Thursday statement, referring to Rupert Murdoch. “I have received great personal satisfaction from mentoring the next generation of reporters and producers and sharing my journalistic values — the facts matter and enterprise reporting will always win the day.”

Ms. Herridge touted her new employer as always placing “a premium on enterprise journalism and powerful investigations. I feel privileged to join a team where facts and storytelling will always matter.”
