NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (AP) - A Connecticut aerospace manufacturer plans to increase its workforce by 50% or more over the next three years.

Polamer Precision in New Britain announced plans Wednesday to add between 110 and 160 more workers to keep up with business growth.

President Chris Galik says the company projections “are to expand over seven years and have employment of over 600 employees.”

Polamer makes engine and airframe components for General Electric, Rolls Royce, Sikorsky and Pratt and Whitney.

Galik says Polamer and New Britain reached a tentative deal for 27 acres at Pinnacle Industrial Park.

New Britain Mayor Erin Stewart says the project hinges on tax breaks from the state, and the city has already put together a package of tax incentives.
