BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore police say two officers shot and killed a robbery suspect after a struggle over a gun outside a pharmacy in North Baltimore.
Police Commissioner Michael Harrison tells a news conference that the shooting occurred outside a Rite Aid pharmacy near the city-county line Wednesday after the officers confronted the driver of a car believed to be involved in an armed robbery at a casino Oct. 9. Harrison didn’t identify the victim.
The commissioner says the man lunged at one officer with a gun in his hand and both men went to the ground.
Harrison says a second officer arrived at the scene and both officers fired their service weapons to prevent the man from shooting the officers or others nearby. He says the officers received minor injuries.
