Donald Trump Jr. says Americans who want to understand House Intelligence Committee Chair Adam Schiff should look to actor Jussie Smollett and the alleged “MAGA country!” attack in Chicago.

The president’s son appeared on Fox News Wednesday evening to discuss Democrats’ calls for impeachment proceedings, leaks to the media, and the political landscape heading into 2020.

“The whole thing is ridiculous, Sean,” Mr. Trump Jr. said of outrage over President Trump’s phone call Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

A CIA whistleblower filed a complaint in relation to Mr. Trump’s reference to former Vice President Joseph R. Biden “bragging that he stopped the prosecution” to protect his son, Hunter, who sat on the board of Burisma Holdings.

“Adam Schiff has never been afraid of a microphone. He’s never met any camera he didn’t love. And frankly, he’s never met a camera he didn’t lie to,” Mr. Trump Jr. said of the California Democrat’s fixation on his family. “Adam Schiff is basically the Jussie Smollett of Congress on steroids. I’ve never seen anything so ridiculous. And if a Republican member of Congress tried to get away with this, the media would be all over them. They wouldn’t just accept it.”

Mr. Smollett, a black gay man, made national headlines after claiming he was attacked Jan. 29 in Chicago at 2 a.m.

The former “Empire” actor had 16 counts of disorderly conduct filed against him after an exhaustive police investigation led led authorities to brothers Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo; the men said they were paid to take part in an orchestrated “MAGA” attack.

All charges were abruptly dropped against the actor in a decision by State’s Attorney Kim Foxx’s office, which left then-Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel livid.

“This looks like because he’s an actor, a person of influence, he got treated differently than anybody else,” Mr. Emanuel told ABC’s “Good Morning America” anchor George Stephanopoulos on March 27. “This is actually making fools of all of us.”

Mr. Trump’s son told Fox’s Sean Hannity that Mr. Schiff’s integrity is equally as questionable.

“He’s pushing our narrative,” Mr. Trump Jr. said. “More importantly, Sean, the American people see it, they get it. … They hate Trump more than they love America. And more importantly, they want to resist Trump more than he ever wanted to do for their constituency. It’s disgusting.”
