SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) - Police at the University of Rhode Island are investigating reports of video voyeurism in two residence halls.
The university said Tuesday it notified resident students that it was made aware of up to four instances of video voyeurism in two residence halls on the main Kingston Campus, occurring late Sunday and Monday nights.
Campus police are investigating.
School officials did not comment beyond a statement provided to students, citing the ongoing investigation.
The statement says housing and residential life staff will conduct additional evening rounds in buildings with community restrooms. Campus police will increase patrols of the residence halls.
The university says it’s supporting students who reported these incidents. It advised all students to “exercise additional awareness” when showering and report any suspicious behavior to campus police or housing staff.
