MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - Montana wildlife officials euthanized a food-conditioned grizzly bear who returned to residences after being captured and relocated.

The Missoulian reported Monday that U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks euthanized the grizzly bear near Bigfork last week.

Authorities say the 350-pound (159-kilogram) adult female grizzly was captured and relocated in October after breaking into a chicken coop and killing multiple birds.

Authorities say a female cub accompanying the bear was also captured and released.

Wildlife officials say there were 44 known or probable grizzly bear deaths across northwest Montana as of the middle of October.

Officials say the 46 grizzly deaths last year set a record.
