LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Latest on a shooting at a Los Angeles area market (all times local):

11:45 a.m.

Police say a shootout that wounded at least one person at a Los Angeles market involved the business owner and members of an Armenian street gang who had been trying to extort him out of $100,000.

Sgt. Frank Preciado says employees were cleaning gang graffiti from the outside walls of Royal Fresh Market Monday morning when gang members returned. Preciado says the market’s owner was armed and he and the gang members exchanged dozens of rounds.

Preciado says one male gang member was shot in the shoulder and arrested after trying to run away. Police are looking for three other men who took off in a light-colored Audi.

Witnesses reported seeing one fleeing gunman limping, but it wasn’t known if he was shot.

No other injuries are reported.
