Nationals first baseman Ryan Zimmerman and left fielder Juan Soto made history Tuesday in Game 1 of the World Series against the Houston Astros.
Both players homered — making the Nationals the first team ever in the World Series to have gotten a home run from a player who is 20 years or younger (Soto) and a player who is 35 or older (Zimmerman). The Nationals won 5-4.
The Nationals have gotten a HR from 20-year-old Juan Soto *and* 35-year-old Ryan Zimmerman in this game.
This is the first game in World Series history where a team got a HR from both a player 20 yrs or younger AND a player who’s 35+.
