FERRIDAY, La. (AP) - Louisiana State Police say a sheriff’s deputy shot and wounded a man during a vehicle chase.

State police said Monday that they’re investigating the shooting by a Concordia Parish sheriff’s deputy during a chase after a shooting suspect Sunday night.

They say a 19-year-old man was taken to a hospital in Baton Rouge, about 85 miles (135 kilometers) south of Ferriday.

A state police spokesman said in an email that investigators are looking into whether the 19-year-old was the shooting suspect. Master Trooper Scott Moreau said he doesn’t know the wounded man’s condition.

No deputies were injured.

State police say charges are possible as the investigation unfolds. They did not give any details.
