DALLAS (AP) - Police in Dallas say a 16-year-old boy has been arrested for the slaying of another teen last month.

Officials say the suspect was arrested in nearby Irving, Texas, on Saturday in connection with the Sept. 30 slaying of 18-year-old Frederick Denavel Ford. The suspect’s name was not released and it was not immediately known if he is represented by an attorney.

Ford was found dead in West Dallas after officers were flagged down by a witness. Investigators found his body in the driver’s seat of a car with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say they obtained a warrant for the suspect’s arrest after conducting surveillance in an area of Irving where the suspect was reportedly staying.
