Washington baseball fans have waited a long time for this — 86 years, to be precise. For the first time since 1933, the nation’s capital will be represented in the World Series.
The Washington Nationals swept the St. Louis Cardinals 4-0 with a 7-4 Game 4 victory Tuesday night at Nationals Park, clinching the franchise’s first World Series berth to the delight of an elated sellout crowd.
The Nationals will take on the Houston Astros, who finished with the best record in baseball in the regular season. The Astros have home-field advantage for the World Series based on regular season record.
All World Series games will be nationally televised on Fox. The schedule is as follows:
Game 1: Tuesday, Oct. 22, Nationals at Astros, 8:08 p.m.
Game 2: Wednesday, Oct. 23, Nationals at Astros, 8:07 p.m.
Game 3: Friday, Oct. 25, Astros at Nationals, 8:07 p.m.
Game 4: Saturday, Oct. 26, Astros at Nationals, 8:07 p.m.

If the Nationals win the World Series, they’ll be the third Washington team in a major sports league to capture their first-ever championship in the last year and a half, joining the 2017-18 Capitals and the 2019 Mystics.
All we know for now: The World Series is coming to Nationals Park for what could be an epic three-day weekend of baseball.
