FAIRPLAY, Colo. (AP) - Teachers at a rural, central Colorado school district have gone on strike over a contract dispute, causing Park County School District RE-2 to cancel classes.
Teachers with the South Park Education Association say they are striking for better wages and other issues. District officials have offered a $2,000 raise.
The district southwest of Denver consists of three schools with about 40 teachers and 600 students.
It is the third teacher strike in Colorado in the last 18 months.
