DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - The United Arab Emirates says Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to their nation on Tuesday as part of a state visit.

The state-run WAM news agency announced Putin’s visit on Thursday.

It said Putin would meet with Abu Dhabi’s powerful crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Putin will be in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

His visit comes amid heightened tensions across the region amid the U.S. pressure campaign against Iran following President Donald Trump’s decision a year ago to withdraw from Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.
