RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - Firefighters in Vermont have put out a fire caused by a propane leak at a hotel in Rutland.
A guest reported the smell of propane at the Holiday Inn on Monday night.
The Rutland Herald reports that the propane caught fire in the boiler room soon after firefighters arrived.
Rutland Town Fire Department Chief Christopher Clark says the gas was turned off and the fire soon put out.
The boiler room and a nearby laundry room were damaged. No injuries were reported.
Clark says a wing of the hotel remained closed. The gas company, representatives from the state Division of Fire Safety and a cleaning crew were at the hotel Tuesday morning.
