MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Minneapolis police say five people are injured after a man suspected in a carjacking crashed into a bakery and struck two vehicles, including an officer’s squad car.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports the car the suspect was in hit two teenage girls near the bakery before jumping a curb, hitting a streetlight and bursting into flames Monday afternoon. The suspect is among the injured and his name has not been released.

Police say the two teenagers are in critical condition. A person inside the bakery suffered serious injuries and a fifth person refused medical attention for their injuries.

Minneapolis police spokesman John Elder called the incident horrific and says “the suspect had zero regard for life.”
