ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A Louisiana man will spend 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing an armored truck at gunpoint outside of a Walmart.

The Alexandria Town Talk reports 62-year-old James Pascal Gilbert pleaded guilty to armed robbery in a Monday plea agreement. Gilbert was also arrested on attempted first-degree murder and unlawful use of body armor charges, but those charges were dropped as part of the agreement.

Prosecutors say Gilbert was wearing body armor in February 2015 when he robbed $115,000 from a Loomis armored truck and fired a gun at two guards monitoring it.

The case against Gilbert, a former Navy chaplain, was delayed as he underwent mental health treatment. Records revealed he’d suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder.

The court also recommended Gilbert undergo mental health evaluation in prison.
