BOSTON (AP) - Military officials have identified the marine allegedly involved in the death of a Boston college student who suffered fatal injuries in a scuffle after leaving a party.
Major Roger Hollenbeck, a spokesman for the Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans, tells the Boston Globe that Lance Cpl. Samuel London is currently being processed for “administrative separation.” In an email, he says that the local authorities have the “full cooperation” of the U.S. Marine Corps.
No charges have been filed in the case. Police have said they’re investigating 19-year-old Daniel Hollis’ death as a homicide. He was a sophomore at Emerson College.
Police say he sustained a severe head injury in the Sept. 28 incident and later died Oct. 2 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of blunt force head injuries.
