Several thousand homes and businesses in Maine and Vermont are still in the dark following last week’s wind storm.

Central Maine Power reports about 1,100 customers are without power and Emera Maine is reporting about 350 outages. In Vermont, about 1,000 customers remain without power.

The storm that started late on Halloween brought gusts topping 70 mph to the region.

Utilities expect line workers to complete the mop-up well ahead of possible messy weather later in the week. The National Weather Service said there’s a possibility of accumulating snow Thursday into Friday.
