Former NFL player Terrelle Pryor was the victim of a stabbing Friday night and is recovering after surgery, according to reports.

Pryor, 30, was stabbed in his shoulder and chest at his apartment in Pittsburgh, reports said. He was in critical condition Saturday morning, but was upgraded to stable condition during the afternoon, NFL Network reported

Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV reported that a woman was taken into custody over the attack, but that police have not released her name at this point.

Currently a free agent, Pryor has played for five NFL teams as a quarterback and wide receiver, including for the Washington Redskins in 2017. Most recently, he played for the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills in 2018.

Pryor was a star quarterback for Ohio State but withdrew from the university after being implicated in a scandal in which he and some teammates made money by selling memorabilia.
