DENVER (AP) - A continuing wintry storm in Colorado caused flight delays and cancelations at Denver International Airport and road closures in northeastern Colorado.
The Gazette in Colorado Springs emailed subscribers to advise them that the strong winds “may affect the placement or location of your Saturday newspaper” and asked them to take an extra look around before calling to report a service error while Greeley canceled its holiday parade on Saturday night.
Flight Aware listed more than 100 canceled flights and nearly 240 delayed flights at Denver International by early Saturday afternoon.
Interstate 25, U.S. Highway 85 and U.S. Highway 287 were closed north of Fort Collins, Colorado due to the poor conditions in Wyoming, while three major highways east of Greeley were closed due blowing and drifting snow and poor visibility.
Strong winds hampered skiers’ ability to enjoy the fresh powder.
Breckenridge Ski Resort, the Arapahoe Basin and the Loveland ski area closed a handful of lifts due to high winds Saturday. The Eldora Ski Area was closed due to extreme winds.
