DENVER (AP) - The Latest on a rockslide affecting traffic to Colorado’s mountains (all times local):

2:35 p.m.

A rock slide has closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 70, creating delays for people heading from the Denver area to Colorado ski areas.

Colorado Department of Transportation officials warned Friday that the closure near Idaho Springs may be extensive.

Officials say the alternative route to Summit County is U.S. Highway 285 to Colorado State Highway 9 but it is likely to have delays.

A nearby section of eastbound I-70 was also temporarily closed so crews could remove rocks that have become unstable to avoid another slide.
