Washington Redskins linebacker Ryan Kerrigan has been ruled out for Sunday’s game at the Carolina Panthers with a concussion, bringing his career-long ironman streak to an end.
Kerrigan has started all 139 games of his NFL career since the Redskins drafted him in the first round in 2011. He trailed only Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and Baltimore Ravens cornerback Brandon Carr for the longest active streak of consecutive games started.
Kerrigan suffered the concussion in the fourth quarter of last week’s game against the Detroit Lions.
The Redskins also ruled out wide receiver Paul Richardson with a hamstring injury.
