FLORENCE, Mont. (AP) - Four Florence-Carlton football players have been banned from extracurricular activities for the rest of the school year for hazing freshman players on a bus ride home from a game.
Superintendent Bud Scully tells the Missoulian the school’s investigation of the reported hazing continues.
The school board met Monday in closed sessions to discuss each of the cases and then publicly voted to suspend the players. Three are seniors and one is a junior.
Mandy Anderson, a member of the Florence-Carlton volleyball coaching staff, said her son quit football because of hazing. She parents and the community need to do more to raise kids who treat others with respect.
Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton has said his office is assisting another county in investigating the hazing.
