Tesla CEO Elon Musk botched the presentation of his company’s new “bulletproof” electric truck when a demonstration to prove the vehicle’s rugged nature resulted in not one but two shattered windows.

Mr. Musk introduced Tesla’s newest design, titled the “Cybertruck” a stainless steel vehicle notable for its unique trapezoid shape.

The vehicle is “literally bulletproof” against smaller-caliber handguns.

To demonstrate, a man with a sledgehammer came out and hit the truck’s metal sides without damaging them.

Then Mr. Musk asked Tesla’s chief designer, Franz Von Holzhausen, to throw a metal ball through Tesla’s “armor glass.”

“You sure?” Mr. Von Holzhausen asked.

When Mr. Musk gave the go-ahead, Mr. Von Holzhausen threw the ball at the driver’s door window and the glass shattered.

“Well, maybe that was a little too hard,” Mr. Musk said over gasps from the audience. “But it didn’t go through.”

Mr. Von Holzhausen picked up the ball and threw it at the driver’s side backseat window, but that window shattered as well.

“Room for improvement,” Mr. Musk quipped.
