SEATTLE (AP) - Washington state authorities have charged a Black Diamond resident with assault domestic violence last week after prosecutors suspect he used chemicals rendering his stepdaughter unconscious.

The Seattle Times reported Wednesday that 37-year-old Allen Bittner was arrested Nov. 10 and posted bail before being arrested again Nov. 15 for violating conditions of a no-contact order.

Bittner posted bail again and was released Tuesday.

King County prosecutors suspect Bittner administered a mixture of chloroform and acetone to the 13-year-old girl who stopped breathing and had to be airlifted to the hospital.

Criminal charges filed Nov. 14 say the girl was admitted into the intensive-care unit where doctors inserted a breathing tube.

The alleged assault happened Oct. 12.

Bittner’s defense attorney was not immediately available for comment.
