DENVER (AP) - The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment says the state’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate has fallen to a historic low.
The Denver Post reported Wednesday that the 2.6% rate is the lowest measured in a series going back to 1976.
The department says the measurement in October matched the rate that was in place from February to June 2017.
Colorado’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate fell to 2.7% during the technology investment boom in 2000, a record that held for years.
The rate rose to a near-term high of 3.7% in January and February this year before falling.
The department says employers in Colorado added 3,100 nonfarm payroll jobs from September to October, with private sector payrolls increasing by 4,200 and government jobs decreasing by 1,100.
The current U.S. unemployment rate is 3.6%.
