LANDOVER — The New York Jets lead 20-3 at halftime, and for the Washington Redskins, that might be insurmountable.

Washington managed just 60 first-half yards Sunday in a messy affair. The Redskins still haven’t scored a touchdown in 15 quarters, despite having two prime chances against the Jets over the first two quarters.

First, linebacker Jon Bostic picked off Jets quarterback Sam Darnold and returned it to the 16-yard line. But the Redskins stalled, settling for a 44-yard field goal when quarterback Dwayne Haskins took a 15-yard sack on third down.

Then, the Redskins had another chance at a touchdown the following drive when the Jets fumbled the kick-off return, giving Washington the ball at the 27-yard line. Washington, though, botched a field goal attempt at the 11-yard line as Dustin Hopkins clanked his 29-yard attempt off the goal post.

The Redskins are just 0 of 6 on third down.
