CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A New Hampshire man has been sentenced to a decade in federal prison for distributing methamphetamine.

Court documents say 45-year-old Alfonz Vei, of Dover, bought the drug last year and distributed nearly 44 grams to an undercover law enforcement officer. Agents said they saw Vei weigh the meth before an associate took the drug and delivered it to the officer.

In January, postal inspectors intercepted a package from a fictitious address and addressed to a residence in Dover, where Vei had a prior affiliation. Investigators observed Vei arrive at the address around the time the package was to be delivered.

The package was searched on a warrant and was determined to contain 444.4 grams of methamphetamine.

Vei pleaded guilty in July. The associate was sentenced to seven years in prison.
