The NFL has arranged for free agent quarterback Colin Kaepernick to privately work out for teams Saturday in Atlanta, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
“The NFL arranged this workout opportunity for Colin Kaepernick, and teams will have the opportunity to evaluate his readiness and level of interest in resuming his NFL career,” Schefter reported. Kaepernick’s attorneys have maintained that the quarterback has always wanted to return to the league.
NFL teams are invited to attend the workout, but it’s unknown whether any will choose to send any scouts or representatives.
NFL clubs were informed today that a private workout will be held for Colin Kaepernick on Saturday in Atlanta. Session will include on-field work and an interview. All clubs are invited to attend, and video of both the workout and interview will be made available to clubs.

Kaepernick hasn’t played in the NFL since the 2016 season, when he began kneeling during the performance of the national anthem while with the San Francisco 49ers. He opted out of his contract with the 49ers that offseason to test free agency, but wasn’t signed.
Kaepernick filed a grievance alleging that NFL team owners colluded to blackball him from the league. The NFL settled with him and former teammate Eric Reid for less than $10 million, reports said.
